Asking Architecture

Co-production of Czech and Slovak Pavilion at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Common Ground, 2012

How to present 19 distinct projects inside one small hall yet still maintain a thorough explanation for each concept? Augmented reality to the rescue! We proudly participated in the production of Asking Architecture, winning design for the exposition in the Czech and Slovak Pavilion at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice by Ján Pernecký.
Empty at first glance, the pavilion got filled with various projects as the visitors grabbed tablets and looked at the space through them. Among selected works were works by authors and groups working with architecture as medium of art, culture, science and society. One could observe virtual objects from various angles, read the descriptions, choose which projects he or she wanted to see by using simple intuitive user interface, and most importantly, record his or her views and opinions on a particular project and upload it. We provided technical coordination of the project as well as PR and production.
